Meeting the couple

Meeting new couples and hearing all about their plans and wedding preparations is a privilege and pleasure for Laurence. His photography will follow the tempo and style of the day so that all the effort and personality of the wedding party is recorded for years to come. It is great to find out about the guests who will attend the wedding so that your photographs can catch the formal and informal moments of the day. Each wedding is different and Laurence relishes ensuring that above all the couple is happy with the process and final result. Like finding the perfect dress or cufflinks there is no absolute template apart from consistent quality and professionalism.

Preparations

The day has arrived and it is time to get ready, shoes have been shined, hair coiffed and outfits ready to be donned. Laurence loves taking photographs before the ceremony as they reflect the mood of anticipation and the seriously fun business of looking one’s best to say yes! Small but important details can be capture in the flurry of activity. Bride and groom will be photographed separately with their respective bridesmaids and groomsmen.

Ceremony

Everyone in their glad rags and anticipating the joyous day ahead amongst family and friends this part of the day is a great record of the importance of the event. As people arrive and catch-up for maybe the first time in a while and meet new faces there is a wonderful air of excitement. Laurence will photograph the ceremony with discretion so that there is no interruption to the exchange of vows and will have in advance scoped out the best vantage points for each part of the proceedings.

Groups

Immediately after the ceremony is the best time to take group photographs of your guests before the meal and entertainment begins. People are looking their best and are full of energy. Laurence will have planned with you in advance which groups are to be photographed so that it is a quick and enjoyable process for all concerned.

Locations

Laurence has photographed many weddings in a variety of locations from fields to cathedrals, islands and cities. He will be happy to provide guidance on timings for the day and appropriate junctures to take the best photographs of the bridal party but is also entirely flexible as to what the couple would like. In advance of the day Laurence will visit the venue to familiarise himself with the surroundings checking light, colour and general ambiance.

Reception

Food, drinks, talking, laughter and merriment commence. During this part of the day there is ample time to capture guests catching up, speeches being delivered, laughter and feasting being enjoyed. Laurence will always blend in as a guest so that the images are natural.

Dancing

From young to old your guests will enjoy this part of the day and photographs capturing smiles and movement are a great way to recall the fun. Whether your first dance is freestyle or foxtrot this is a great opportunity to see the couple relax and lead the way for their guests to enjoy the musical entertainment.

Selfie booth

A great invention to provide additional entertainment for your guests is a photo booth. You can personalise this with props or Laurence can provide a jolly selection for people to choose from. Operated by the guests themselves with a simple click this can produce fun and frivolous snaps to capture the jubilant atmosphere of the day. The booth can be set-up at the reception for people to wander into at their leisure. As the selfies are taken they will appear as a slideshow in the booth.

After the wedding day

*all prints are produced in-house using fine art fibre based papers.

You are on your honeymoon relaxing after having given your family and friends a day to remember. Laurence meanwhile is busy at work crafting the finished photographic result. Using state of the art equipment and professional techniques the images will be ready for digital transmission and printing* in whichever format the couple chooses.
